Background Information – Everything You Wanted To Know And Were Too Polite To Ask

Welcome to Willo’s Web!!! I thought since this blog is about ME .. written by ME … you should know some background details about ME. Don’t sweat it – I won’t bore you with ALL the details. Just a few highlights so you can understand my way of thinking a bit better.

Born amidst the Heather one sunny day, I lived the beginning years of my youth in bonny Scotland. Many people ask me what I remember most about my time abroad – my response is always the sweets! After all, Great Britain is the home of Cadburry – the best chocolatier on the planet. The family packed up our tartan and bagpipes in my pre-teen years. Dad being a US Navy man, we were transferred back to the good old US of A. I lived in Virginia Beach, VA for 11 years, Jacksonville, FL for 3 years, Melbourne, FL for 4 years and now Orlando, FL since 1997.

I have a background in Marketing and Communications – with a BA degree in Organizational Communication.  I’ve followed a decent career path – working for the local FOX TV station and landing a prime job as Director of Marketing and Membership sales for a large Japanese coporation in 2005.  The 80 hour weeks were killing me – when I lost my husband to cancer in 2006 I decided it was time to step down the career ladder and focus on getting myself HEALTHY. I have enjoyed every minute of my last three years off!  This allowed me to spend more time with my son and to pursue other adventures in life {one day I may tell you about the wild ride!}. Now that the son is planted safely in college, and we’ve been in our new home for a year, I’m in the midst of a search for a new career! It’s an exciting time of life – and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world!!
