Be glad you if live on the West Coast! You now have the choice of watching or not. I’d say NOT!

I was reminded tonight of all the reasons NOT to watch the Audition rounds of AI. A bunch of really really terrible performances, a ton of emotional stories, tomfoolery from the judges, and then one or two great singers.

I think the Audition round is becoming more and more about the JUDGES and not the people .. but .. if that’s what’s selling Ad space then I guess Nigel knows what he is doing.

Out of the three or four they showed who actually made it to Hollyweird … the only standout for me was Deana. And that was because her voice was a little more unique. Bikini Girl annoyed the heck out of me and we ALL know why she made it through. Emily – the first rocker had an awesome voice – but I’m not sure how mainstream America is going to take her. Certainly the teeny tots won’t like the tattoos or the rock sound.

Here’s hoping tomorrow night is much better! I’d really love to see MORE of the GOOD performances. At least they didn’t parade around the local looney toon this year … well .. so far any way.

I’m more curious about the behind the scenes action .. what stories will arise this year? Will the franchise try and plant performers again this year .. or has David Cook proved America really does make the choice? Who will be the first Porn Start outed? Who will be arrested before they make it to Hollyweird?? Will the horror kid fall victim to one of his own movie plots?
