One of my favorite Reality Games has returned to TV this summer – THE MOLE! And it didn’t suck nearly as bad as it could have. The new host obviously can’t live up to Anderson Cooper – but he did have some very Cooperesque qualities that may help him pull off the show. I think he needs to relax just a little more, and pick up on the subtle humor that Cooper presented during his Mole days.

I have my own theory of who The Mole is … and tested it out this week at the ABC Mole website … where you can take the same Please Login or Register to see the link. at the end of the season.

The quiz doesn’t tell you how many questions are correct … but it does tell you the percentage breakdown on how many others guessed the same way. I’ve included the questions from Week 1 and my responses below – with the percentage of people who currently agree with me.

  1. Is the Mole Male or Female? Male {60%)
  2. When did The Mole Jump in the Over The Falls mission? Ninth {11%}
  3. During the Curusoe Mission, which group did The Mole join? Scavenger {62%}
  4. On the first night, where was the Mole assigned to sleep? Outside {33%}
  5. As it is written on The Moles bag, does The Mole have an even or odd number of letters in their name? Even {52%}
  6. What is The Mole’s Age? 31 {11%}
  7. In Over The Falls, what was The Moles outcome? Tried but did not grab the bag {66%}
  8. Did The Mole drive one of the Vans to the beach? Yes {15%}
  9. At the start of the Crusoe mission, was The Mole wearing a hat? Yes {25%}
  10. Who is The Mole? Alex {5%}

The majority of people – at 20% – believe that Victoria is The Mole. One person on the Medialine message board has pointed out that she had a different colored helmet during the Over The Falls challenge than everyone else. My belief is that was a false clue … it was way too obvious.

I’m keeping my eye on Alex … so far he’s quietly managed to slide by in the background. Making an pretend alliance with Paul – who is so blatant he could never be The Mole!

Did you watch the show? Who do you think The Mole is?

Jon Kelly host of The MoleAs some of my long time readers may remember, last summer during the blogathon I counted down my top 20 favorite Reality TV shows. The honor of Please Login or Register to see the link. went to THE MOLE – hosted by Anderson Cooper. Well, I’m excited to finally see ABC is brining back an all new THE MOLE, with a new host that has an uncanny resemblance to my beloved Anderson, Jon Kelly.

Kelly is joined this Season by 8 candidates who will all attempt to outwit The Mole and win the game. Along the way they’ll face many challenges enabling them to add more money to the pot. The twist is … one of the contestants has been selected by the Production team to act as a spy who sabotages the game .. and their fellow contestants. The Mole will do everything in their power to see the other contestants fail. Yet … they may at any time make it easier for the contestants to win more money as a means to throw them off the trail! It’s certainly a game of intellect – where physical prowess isn’t the only tool to help you win the game.

Here’s the “official” description of the show:

Dubbed television’s smartest reality show, ABC is bringing back “The Mole,” featuring all-new missions, locations and music, plus online and mobile interactivity, enabling more viewer participation during the 10 episodes. Jon Kelley (“Extra,” “The National Sports Report,” “Baseball Today”) is host.

“The Mole” follows a group of 12 players as they try to figure out who among them is The Mole, a saboteur trying to keep them from winning money. Players must decide who they think The Mole is and then learn as much about him or her as they can, because, at the end of each one-hour episode, the player who knows the least about The Mole is immediately eliminated from the game. In the final dramatic episode, The Mole is revealed and one of two final players wins a substantial cash prize.

I’ll be keeping tabs on each episode here at Willo’s Web, and I invite anyone who wants to exchange theories on the show to jump in on the comments each week. Half the fun of watching this show is trying to decipher clues left behind by The Mole to aid in their identification. It’s not till the last episode of the Season that the Producers reveal the MANY hidden clues within the show itself that all reveal exactly who this master saboteur really is.

You can head over to the Please Login or Register to see the link. site to watch the videos of each contestant for a sneak peek into who might have the right make-up to be The Mole … or not. The show airs ten episodes starting June 2nd! I can’t wait!
